The Best of Little Anthony & The Imperials

Bob Dylan once said rock 'n' roll ended with Little Anthony and the Imperials. I'm not so sure about all that, but this disc makes a pretty solid argument. Hit's like Tears on My PIllow and Skimmy Shimmy Ko Ko Bop and much more.

What do you think? I was not expecting much, considering I don't really love instrumental rock albums, but this one struck me. Very enjoyable, and a good morning mood album.

I like this guy too, it reminds me of that Brokedick Warriors album, if it was played by a bunch of paunchy 40 year olds who wear jorts and white sneakers on stage.

This is pretty good. Its a reg-rock type of day. 70 degrees and no clouds. I need music I can blare while driving with the windows down.

I'm a few songs in but it's fitting the mood perfectly before 8am. It's going well with coffee and brain wave analysis.

Yeah, I wasn't sure what to expect out of this. I think I had it on last Friday as well. Definitely more reg rock than the blog's (or artist's) suggestion of Dolls/Stooges meets Skynyrd. Still good though.

This I haven't heard. Where'd you find?

Radcliffe has a blog link for that Right Ons, but I'll box 'er up for you.

I hear a little of that Dolls/Stooges influence, and I hear a little of the Skynyrd/classic rock feel, but it's not overly one or the other..thus, reg rock. But really, it's just some good vibe rock and roll, and an album I am enjoying.

Yeah, I guess. I mean, it's more Dolls/Skynyrd than Talking Heads/Devo for sure. I was expecting a bit more ROCK but was pleased with the overall delivery. The cover too makes it seem like you'll be in for a full on assault.

This Booker T album has got it all right now. And at a quick look, at 43 min long it's the right length too.

Yeah, the music doesn't really jive with the cover. I see what you mean. Check the box in like 15 mins and that Right Ons will be in there.

While browsing for albums produced by Jimmy Miller I came across this one and thought I'd give it a shot. Found out after the fact that Genya Ravan plays harmonica on the album. Recommended for fans of the early 70s Miller's work with the Stones.
