i'm a total physical wreck but it was worth it. dont even know how many bands i saw, but there was hardly a disappointment from what i can remember.

highlights -
akron/family
deer tick [solo]
no age
suckers
health
trash talk on the ped bridge [i really thought someone was going over the side]
brisket tacos at the garage on e 6th
wild beasts
brisket sandwiches @ sam's
the mae shi
over the hills and far away [our friend michael made this documentary, i highly recommend it, wont be in theaters til sep, i think]

lowlights - missing woven hand fri night, 6th street in general, knowing that i'm eventually going to sober up and this week is over...

phil, i got to typewriter museum at like 7:30 the other night on my way back to ms bea's and totally missed yr set. again.

Exhausted and burnt to a crisp but had a blast.

Back to cold weather and grey skies tomorrow.

this was the same as the previous years for me. too much work, so too few bands seen. too many shows by too few bands. deathset and ninjasonik had 15 great shows between them. i was the drunken shepherd. still partied hard with very good people, busy with a little spanish sweetie, and saw a few good bands. highlights:

ponytail and japanther at ms beas
akron family at waterloo park (waay better than the first time i saw them)
circle jerks there too
japanther there again
cerebral ballzy
totally michael
team robespierre
newmore switchblades:
03/25/09 Cactus Club Milwaukee WI
03/26/09 The Rathskellar Madison WI
03/27/09 The Summit Columbus OH
03/28/09 Grog Shop Cleveland Heights OH
03/29/09 Danger Danger House Philadelphia PA

Then I had to get up at 430am on sunday for my first flight, my second, from chicago, was canceled and it took the whole day to replace it, and so i got sick, and came out at a loss on this one.

It's the name of the family of bands and people that includes:

The Death Set
Team Robespierre
Ninjasonik
Totally Michael
Cerebral Ballzy

... who are touring together now, and also includes:

Matt & Kim, Ponytail, Best Fwends, etc.

jsh, glad someone else was at that akron/family show. been meaning to see them for ages and was totally blown away.
also caught that ponytail set at mrs bea's. you know, ive heard them before and seen video, and wasn't really that into it. but seeing them live i have a whole new appreciation for them. i don't know exactly what it is they do, but they do it well.

true. their record didn't grab me, but i appreciated it live. and now i'm cool with the record. could be that it was just nice to see something different than what i saw multiple times and again during the rest of my trip...

Some good pix / videos mixed with some not so good ones.
