The book was a childhood favorite...I hope the movie is good, doesn't come out till October, but the poster looked pretty cool. Spike Jones is directing so I'm thinking it'll be pretty awesome. Found some test footage on youtube:

Poster is definitely cool. The few photos I've seen are great too.

No idea how they'll make it into a full-length movie but things look good so far.

I'm pretty upset that I don't want to / am opposed to seeing "Monsters vs. Aliens" just because I want to see an official / polished version of this (through it's trailer) on the big screen...

However, if the Preview is in 3-D as well, goodbye $15...

After twenty or so years of spoiling films, CGI is almost there.

I thought there already was a movie (or animated short).

I guess that just goes to show just why this is a classic--it just comes to life when you read it. Gonna have to find a copy of this one again.

It does look pretty damn good. And I usually hate it when they make movies from kids books.

Looks pretty damn good. I have read this more times to my kids than I ever remember having it read to me. They just love going back to it. I always add little flourishes while reading mainly hoots and hollers during the stomp and romp pictures on the island.

I could actually say I'd go to the movie, which is rare in our household.

Cannot wait. This has been high up on my "to see" list since I first heard of the dream match-up of Jonze and the book. I've been following pretty closely the production, and here's to hoping the studio didn't rip too much of the life out of the film. There were some definite back and forths going on.

You can be assured that opening night of this film across this great land will be awash in cardigans and black frame glasses. We'll be sitting in the parking lot afterwards blaring the latest Pitchfork-approved buzz album, while drinking PBRs. Ah, yes...

Seriously though, why don't you want to see a fun movie like this?

Great trailer. Good use of the Arcade Fire song. Also, pleased to see Dave Eggers co-wrote the screenplay. Color me excited.

It looks overwrought and for the most part I just don't like Jonze's schtick.

I am a semi-impressed by the costuming and the way the CGI doesn't immediately ruin the entire movie, but it's a movie that grown ups are excited to see of people dressed in glorified Grimace costumes...

...you say that as though "grown ups" shouldn't like fun, because grown ups are SERIOUS BUSINESS.

No matter how well done they are, i can't muster up much interest in kids' movies. Msybe if my son was a bit older so i'd have the fun of seeing it with him.
