British indie veterans Gomez follow-up 2006's 'How We Operate' with 'A New Tide', marking a return to the band's more experimental roots. Including guest appearances from vocalistAmy Milan (Broken Social Scene) and cellist Oliver Krauss (Paul Weller, Beth Orton), 'A New Tide' provides an example of a band that is comfortable with the input and creativity of each member.

I liked some stuff on In Our Gun, but I'd agree with this statement.

I loved How We Operate

I usually don't download pre-releases like this, but I must just in this case because I'm seeing them tonight and it'd be nice to know the new stuff they'll doubtlessly saturate their set with.

Not last night.

Really good show, incidentally. Songs translate really well into a live setting.

I think How We Operate was in my top five that year. Looking forward to this.

Looking forward to this one. But I'm trying to interpret what they mean by "experimental." Maybe that would be In Our Gun.

I haven't played this yet, but that's all could think of as well.

Yeah it seems like anything from In Our Gun or earlier is described as experimental, although I really don't agree with that description.

I have this abandoned shopping trolley album full of b-sides and other stuff, that one is pretty experimental.

ahhh..well-played. Their best release IMO. Maybe some more unusual tracks on that one, but I don't think it's as wild as In Our Gun.

I guess the oddest part of the description was to say "experimental roots," when IOG is their 3rd album.

It's a compilation of b-sides from their first two albums, and I think Liquid Skin is also considered to be a bit "experimental," too.
