So, for the past couple of months I've listened the shit out of the Will Oldham/Rian Murphy EP All Most Heaven, and I think it might be my favorite thing that i've ever heard Will Oldham on. I'm wondering if this might be more due to Murphy than Oldham, so I looked up his band and they seem to be pretty popular, but I can't find anything all that substantial on the internet. How is their album? Is it worth actually paying money for? Keep in mind that I don't actually have money.

I remember going out to find the Chestnut Station album when it came out, and being hugely disappointed. The songs were pretty good (I think), but the album was recorded "live" in someone's living room or something and the sound fidelity (or lack of it) destroyed any redeeming aspects of the performance. I dunno - I'd advance with caution. Have you tried a blog search?

Yeah, the "live" tag seemed strange since there was no mention in the review of the album I read of a crowd. There's also their first EP that's supposed to be pretty great. Fucking Drag City.

I've searched blogs, torrents, etc... with no luck.

I'm looking for anything by them, and if it's not any trouble, I'd be psyched if you could...

Rian Murphy used to do an occasional show on Northwestern's radio station - WNUR. They may be available in an archive somewhere.

"Boomerang" is a great song. The rest of the album is sort of forgetable.
