My list begins thusly:
Sid Vicious
Peter Laughner
Ian Curtis
Darby Crash
G.G. Allin (although his was of a comedic variety)

Just gettin' ideas for a mix.

Tracy Pew is the first that comes to mind. Him fucking that Rickenbacker at the end of that video is the embodiment of rock & roll nihilism.

Alex Harvey?

Maybe not. But it still played off as ridiculous.

Their music most often sucked, but Zack de la Rocha had a solid anarchist theoretical base to his rock and roll. Anarchy is not nihilism as you've meant it, but still.

And I am gonna suggest Joplin... too often we forget that women too will go.... all.... the.........way.

true true

though "were" and "nihilist" usually hints pretty heavily at self-inflicted exit wounds

G.G. definitely.
My add would be The Swans...I find it impossible to listen to them without feeling an oppressive sense of depression.

And that makes them different from all other music, how?

I listen to a song like Laughner's "Cinderella Backstreet" and there is just nothing there. No hope. You know that he is gonna go early and you know that he knows. I don't get that from Cobain or Jim Morrison.

And I do get that from some of the Birthday Party stuff (or Grinderman)... even though Nick Cave isn't gone.

EDIT:
Oh, and I suppose I can add early Velvet Underground to that list (pre-S/T).

I don't see how anyone with any appreciation for already existing music (i.e. Laughner, Thunders, Joplin, etc...) could possibly be included here. These people all revered a lot of the music that came before them. A nihilist would have probably pissed on Bessie Smith's grave in Mount Lawn cemetery before buying her a new headstone.
