I hope they make the third song during the credits a regular thing, much better than watching the cast congratulate each other on their mediocre performances.

I couldn't even make it to their performance.

Rogen's monologue was painfully unfunny as were the first couple of skits I saw.

Is the show still an hour and a half? Because you would think a monologue, 3 skits, the news and 2 songs could fill that....and that you could make it all pretty funny.

I haven't seen a first run of this show in at least 5 years.

You forget the key ingredient - comedic talent.

this happens whenever they cut a sketch at the last minute. it's become a pretty regular easy out for them to have the band play through the credits.

wtf 3 songs?

Yeah, that was definitely one for the books. I've never seen an artist perform three songs on SNL. Nice!

I'm pretty sure Zappa did but that was like '77.

I'm pretty sure that was one song and they just cut the camera back to the show a couple of times.

Coldplay just played three songs a few months ago I believe. Phoenix sounded pretty good though. Lead singer's got a funny haircut though.

Two of the worst sketches ever last night: Milestone High and the one where the guy accidentally sends a Grease CD to company executives instead of a prospectus. Really bad. Nuni bad.

the phone sketch was horrendous, too. that definitely needs to go on any "worst sketches of [time period]" list.

Point taken.

But I'm in the house 24 hours a day studying. I've had worst things than SNL playing in the background. And I've seen Roadhouse on AMC way too many times in the last week alone.

SNL is pretty good whenever Samberg, Wiig, Hader or that new girl who does the "bitch please" thing is on.

Kristen Wiig is probably the funniest woman ever on the show.

Phoenix were pretty great, too.

could not disagree more. i think she's one of those comediennes that other comics like, and i respect her ability to remain within her characters past the point of absurdity and to nail the mannerisms that her impressions depend on, but she's just never funny, which seems important.
