Woo hoo! Just ordered a vinyl copy from their website.

i have to add decemberists to my tops. very good album.

i have been enjoying this album immensely.

also digging the fleeting joys record.

I like what I've heard from this quite a bit.

I've only really spent time with Neko and Andy Bird, but I enjoy both a ton. Franz Ferdinand didn't do much for me the first few times.

Finally got around to buying these and they're up there with Andrew Bird, though I'm not sure how many other '09 releases I've actually heard...

i gave up on FF... deleted all of their stuff.

everything they've ever done? i think that's a bit drastic.

that album is terribly front-loaded. i like a bunch of tracks.

not really. i decided i hated more than half the tracks on all of their records, and these days that ratio is not going to make the cut.

This is on my list of best... the soaring meandering ambient feedback guitar is a genre I like in general, but this transcends that. The two work against each other in really interesting way, almost like great jazz players, but ending up in this odd post-rock place.

my mother-in-law is a friend/co-worker of a guy who is the dad of one of the band members. i heard that they wanted to send me a disc for a review because they were looking for some press, and I said "sure." then i heard that the band hired a promotions guy, they paid him a thousand bucks to send the album out to radio stations, mags, blogs, etc and to promote the album release for them. of course my mom-in-law says "why don't you get a job like that?" as if it's as easy as falling off a log. but anyway, i was like "what the hell? first they are a band that needs to network via their parents, and now they've got a grand to drop on having someone mail out promos for them?"

keep in mind this is months ago when no one (i.e. me...others outside NY/NJ) knew who they were.

well anyway, a review disc never arrived. i suspect they never needed/wanted a z-lister like myself to review it in the first place.

in short, i'd like to hear this album (pmplzkthnx)
