65 km = 40 miles on the bus from doorstep to campus.

I get a lot of music listening in and some reading.

25-minute walk, most of it along the Thames river.

iPod, thinking, and/or taking in the scenery.

It proves most of y'all need to move, that's for damn sure.

I live almost across the street from work. Total commute time under a minute. I listen to the birds chirping.

It would be totally cool if it was a record store or a bar, but at my current job I think my fellow employees would stalk me. Plus, my boss would probably walk across the street on a regular basis to yell/complain about crap I wasn't responsible for on my day off.

There's definitely something to be said for separating your work life from your personal life.

absolutely.

one of my coworkers bought a townhouse (pre-construction) about 200 yards from our office, figuring she wouldn't even be working here anymore by the time it was actually built. well, i think she's settled into her job pretty comfortably and is moving later this year. she's not terribly thrilled about that.

I drive all over for work. My first stop can be anywere from half a mile to 40 miles from my house. Always CDs. I like it because I can usually get through 2-3 albums in a day, and it's hard for me to find the time to listen to music outside of my car.

10 miles each ways, about 25 minutes total time driving give or take the number of psychos weaving in and out of traffic in their saabs and bmw's. And give or take the number of asshole college students jaywalking in front of dumptrucks and almost getting run over in the process (true story). Ah Princeton!

1.5 miles (on foot) about 20 minutes
talk on phone or listen to music or just enjoy the morning.
This should have been a poll so we could finally determine obner's collective carbon footprint, then issue burlap--ekk, I mean--hemp totebags to the eco-stars of the board.

I have to think of everything around here.
