Tim Armstrong - A Poet's Life

I pulled this out the other day when it was nice. Its rainy, and chilly now. Doesn't really translate. Albums like this should have a mandatory summer release date.

Sonny Rollins: The Sound of Sonny

Probably my favorite Sonny Rollins album. I know stuff like Saxophone Colossus gets more attention, but this one always stands out to my ears. Recorded just a year after that one, The Sound of Sonny is a bit more melodic and ushers in his smooth bop style that I enjoy. Way Out West, released later in the same year is another one I really enjoy.

Yeah, I tend to prefer his stuff with the Impressions, but his solo records are generally excellent as well.
