I've been in a bit of a vinyl buying slump as I've been sidetracked with the new iPod and transferring my CDs over to that. But, I'll probably pick up at least a couple things for record store day tomorrow. And in a couple more weeks another record show is rolling around, so that'll get my attention as well.

Oops. Must have just read the first letter and seen the Replacements cover. Thanks.

Got a RIP tonight, so the vinyl need isn't as imminent. Will post yesterday's buys Monday (or so)...

I'm envious of your Technics and Sam Cooke live album...

Oh yeah, bought some vinyl on record store day.

Grabbed a couple records from the Saints, a Greg Khin Band record, a punk compilation, The Neighborhoods: The High Hard One, Sonny Rollins: Tenor Madness, The Dicks: Hate The Police 7" reissue, and a new copy of Little Anthony & The Impreials Greatest Hits to replace my scratched to hell copy.

And the live music was pretty damn good too. The Bottle Rockets tore up the place, which by the time they started was jammed shoulder to shoulder with people.

funny story: i took a week at home with my family recently, spent an evening peeling through what i had left of my dad's vinyl in the attic, picking out things like fleetwood mac and abba while my dad listened to mp3s of dan deacon's bromst in the other room. he really loves that record.

I can't remember all of them, but last night:

(That was the big one - nice early 70's preteen bubblegum pop from DET)

(Actually got vol. 2 & 3 of this series)

...and some other stuff too.

i keep forgetting to bump this one.
so ill go back a few weeks

thee oh sees - HELP!
way too soon for another oh sees album but
it is also a good thing to put on and tell people its the b-52s
[img][600:600]http://www.kspc.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/theeohsees.jpg[/img]

stange boys and girls club
i HATE this cover art
but it's probably still my number one of this year so far
i was shocked to read great lyrics too
couldn't understand a fuckin word of it before
Image

ty segall-lemons
this dude is also putting out too many records
but i think i picked the best one of them to collect
[img][600:600]http://www.mbvmusic.com/images/tysegall-lemons.jpg[/img]

micheal yonkers and the blind shake split LP
my favorite local band and legendary dude
the yonkers side is with blind shake as the backing band
(they have a previous LP with the same set up that's pretty good)
this time around i'm having a hard time with the yonkers side
its more of his folky side
the blind shake side however, all killer no filler
the blind shake are machines
Image

today i got
pissed jeans-king of jeans
i don't know why i like an album that sounds so 90s
i'd really like to see these guys live
*also wanted to point out that the liner notes do have lyrics
Image

as always if you are interested in listening to these records PM a guy
