We are, for the most part, independent, forward thinking, early adopters (as much as that is the worst cliche ever described).

I know 2 groups starting political/public affairs consulting firms.

Which of these is better?

Neither one of these really in my opinion. The second one I guess isn't terrible in the fact that it offers a nice summary of their services, but it doesn't exactly sound that great.

The first makes me feel like chalices and pimp canes might be required for all meetings.

The second is a mouthful but the alliteration in the first makes me feel like they're dumbing themselves down.

I voted 2.

first one flows better, but i think a better progression would be:
Media, Message, Money

That early adopter thing (even if it's cliche) is the big nugget.

Build around the term "innovation"

I wouldn't go with either of them.

Grassroots Strategy Communication Finance

Would be better.

Not only does it flow better but its thematically ordered.

The roots are always the beginning obviously, a strategy is produced, it is then communicated and at the end, hopefully, there is some money.

I think that makes a lot more sense than just having a jumble of buzzwords and I'd imagine would be easier to remember.

That will be $50 please.

the first one says nothing, the second tells a slight story with the dichotomy of grassroots paired with the other less grassroots sounding words. I agree that rearranging the words might help with flow, but might work against the friction of the words.

I would have voted for the second one but I hate the one. word. at. a. time. thing everyone does now.

They both suck. Keep looking for other firms.

Also the caveat here is, you are a candidate looking to run for office.

and on that note, Option 1. My guess is that those 3 things mean a lot to the intended audience.

Sorry then, I'd have to move on to Dewey, Cheatum & Howe

The first one seems business like, marketing whiz, media cut throats/slinging

The second, traditional grinders, message building, media via message

I think it would be a reflection on the candidate by which they would choose. If I had political experience already I'd maybe go with the first one. If I was a freshman candidate I would go with the 2nd hoping I could build a following base for a future run.

The first one because, 1) Yes, it flows better, 2) Money probably is most essential to a campaign, and 3) (see #1) Even though the second one says more, it's so awkward that the firm responsible seems to have no idea of how to present themselves appealingly. Isn't that the whole point of what these firms should do?

I've got faith you can come up with a better third choice. The first one sounds better with the alliteration and all, but a lead off just with the word money comes across a bit crass and kinda hackneyed. The second just isn't memorable and has no real catch to it. I'm also on the side of not really caring for the random string of words. I think if you're gonna do that, you do need to stick with something that has a good sound to it like the first one just so it is memorable. Just four buzz words strung together doesn't really do much.

If all else fails, you can always ask this guy for advice...

I was gonna nix the first one since it sounds a little too much like a shady special interest group

but then I saw you say that this is targeted to the candidate, so definitely #1

This popped into my head this morning;

Innovative Money and Messaging Strategies

It's almost a mission statement as well as a tagline so it communicates what the firm does better than a few buzzwords crammed together.

Funny -- that's the part everyone else seems to like.
