I recently listened to the entirety of Abbey Road for the first time ever, and "Come Together" and "I Want You" are the only good songs on that thing.

you shouldn't listen to albums anymore. just download some billboard proven hits every once in a while and enjoy the compressed quality of single charts.

There's a shit tonne of Beatles songs that have a segment I LOATHE. A line, a bridge, a verse, a chorus, whatever.

Really? It loses points immediately as an album as the last lingering notes you hear are from 'Her Majesty'.

Her Majesty is a great way to end the album. The only points is loses is the first side drags a little. But the endless highs of side two more than make up for it.

Yeah side two just gets on a tear and doesn't let up.

...meh. It's got a good feel to it, but maybe I've just heard it too much.

I mean, to each his own, but damn, it seems like you'd have to WANT to not like side 2. Like maybe if that was your thing... "I don't like stuff." Maybe.

I vote with side 2 being bullshit.

Once they lost the matching suits, it was all downhill from there.

"Carry That Weight" could've been a good song if they'd bothered to finish it. As for the rest, it's unfinished nonsense tied together by admittedly impressive technique. "Polythene Pam" and "Mean Mr. Mustard"? Put 'em alongside "Rocky Raccoon" for the soundtrack to your next PBS pre-school special.

"Her Majesty", tacked on the end, was originally part of the side two medley, appearing between "Mean Mr. Mustard" and "Polythene Pam".

Makes sense.

"Your Majesty" wasn't supposed to be on the album, it was attached there by one of the engineers.

I think Revolver and Abbey Road are overrated.

I prefer the White Album, Rubber Soul, and Beatles for Sale to either.
