I'm sure it's just a negotiating ploy so I am trying not to get excited but Kurt "4,583 yards, 30 touchdowns and passer rating of 96.9" Warner spent yesterday in Santa Clara meeting with the 49ers.

I'm ECSTATIC about it. Especially since its for a second rounder next year instead of this year.

Dimitroff is going Russian mafia on the league.

FUCK.

YES.

This is fucking awesome.

If Matt Ryan develops like he should, we're going to put up 38 a game and make people keep up. Granted, they will because our D will be merely decent. But 38 beats 31 every time.

TGonz will be arrested in an indecent exposure incident involving his "deplorable lack of pants" behind the GA Dome, or shot up in Chamblee by Mexican Gang Members before the season is over.

I like the dude, but isn't he 45 and a tight end who can't block?

The can't block criticism is fair but his offensive numbers are equal to anyone in the league.

Matty Ice just needs a playmaker/outlet like this dude to be unstoppable. M. Turner is a beast that doesn't need an extra blocker. Also, his blocking skills have been grossly underestimated. Is he Hines Ward? No. But he's not Tripp Chandler.

I'm not about to start an NFL Draft 2009 thread but absolutely must mark the occasion of a certain Georgia boy ensuring his backside is going to become VERY familiar with the turf at Ford Field.

Welcome to the NFL, Matt. And since those payments are from the Ford family, might wanna ask for cashier's checks - can't be too careful these days. Hahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!

I can't believe this but dude is a year younger than me (he turned 33 in February). If he gives us three good years, I'll be more than satisfied that we got value out of trading a #2.

And we have at least three blocking TE's on the roster already and a bruiser of a FB in Mughali. What we need is a guy to catch passes across the middle.

I may be wrong, but I always thought that Gonz was more of an H-Back in a clasic offense than an actual bruiser style Mark Bavaro esque TE?

Put another way, I don't think he was putting up 100 catch/1000 yard season by catching 8 yard outs?

His average catch is in the 10-12 yd. range so you may be right but if he can stretch the field a bit, keep the double team off of Roddy and give Ryan an outlet when all hell breaks loose, I think we'll be ok.

Ol' vegan Gonzalez in Atlanta. Saw that, and can't say I'm not jealous.

Lions........Super Bowl Champs......2014.

I'm pretty much ambivalent about the whole thing. Everyone with a brain stem knew that this kid's endgame was what took place today.

On one hand I think it can't possibly hurt the UGA program to say "oh by the way, come play for Mark Richt and go #1 in the draft" but I also don't think this kid ever bought into the "Bulldog for Life" program, which is fine. I'll love him forever for what he did for the program but, as a person who thinks College Ball trumps the NFL in every way, UGA will have a better team without him and Knowshon.'

Fuck the Pro lovers.

Not usually my style to bag on one of our own but there's a reason he went in the 6th round. I'm frankly surprised, given all our glaring issues (specifically lack of pass rush off the ends) on defense last year, that he was drafted at all.

It's certainly possible that he impressed some people at the combine enough to take a shot on him but to be perfectly honest, I think he's probably at best a back up player.

Good to know. I won't get my hopes up.

really stoked that JT is back in miami -- playing opposite joey porter while tutoring future-defensive-player-of-the-year cameron wake.

repeat AFC East champions. book it.

I read somewhere (espn.com, maybe?) a great analysis of why the Dolphins won't repeat. a) their schedule and b)they won't sneak up on teams like last year.
