The other night when I met Ian Brown, I asked him to sign a poster for a friend of mine who lives in Scotland. Ian personally addressed it to him, even adding a little "Scotland" note on it. Excited about it, I sent an email to my pal, Ian, letting him know what I had done. Needless to say, he was completely stoked and sent me his home address so that I could mail it posthaste.

Well...I brought it into work with me and now I can't find it. I thought I may have accidentally thrown it out with the trash yesterday morning when I arrived in the garage. Ran down there today (luckily, the trash hadn't been picked up), found everything else I had thrown away but no Ian Brown autograph. I've searched everywhere on my desk and nothing. I KNOW I brought it with me yesterday and am now thinking it may have fallen out of my bag on my way to the office from the garage.

I know it's not a big deal to anyone but Ian and me, but it's the fact that it was personally autographed to him that makes me sick. I don't even know how I'm gonna tell him now that I've lost it. I am such a fuckin' loser. :(

It's in your house or in your car. It'll turn up.

This happened to me enough times to know.

Yeah, it will turn up for sure. I've misplaced everything at some point in time, like my ciggies last Friday!

I'm tearing my truck up tonight. And the living room. And my bedroom.

I'll need more than ONE sympathy drink, Matt. I need lots and lots.

have a few... it'll turn up once you stop looking.

I lost my keys for two days one time...then came in drunk and they were under my bed, where I had looked approximately 187 times.

I lost a boot after a party once for about 3 weeks...it was in the bushes on the side of our house (don't ask)

Not trying to be snarky, but oftentimes when you take a second to calm down, and try to forget about it, the thing you're looking for will turn up.

I've got my fingers crossed for ya, T :D

I just wrote similar advice, but hit the wrong button. The Senator is correct. Fingers X'ed.

My wife's grandmother's prized possession was a letter from Bette Davis. A great-grand-niece was going through the grandmother's personal papers after her funeral and will were done. She asked her dad if she should keep the letter or throw it away because it "looked like it was from some old actress or other and might be important or something."

bullshit. This happens to me weekly....its gone forever. Some of the best things lost:

Original Optimus Prime figurine
A billion other transformers during my childhood
Darren Hayes from Savage Garden's signature (don't ask)
Michael Jordan's signature on a skybox 'inside/outside' card
Stereo Remote control
Around 500 basketballs

I don't think they know Savage Garden.

Also, you should be glad you lost that.

Oh, man but they did that animal rights song for that uber-classic retarded-Juliette Lewis-in-love flick.

Plus they ripped off Reunion's "Life is A Rock (But The Radio Rolled Me)"

Love flight to the moon! And back! Oh, Darren!

He's busy.

IAN BROWN ARRESTED AFTER ONSTAGE FIGHT

IAN BROWN has been arrested in SAN FRANCISCO after an
onstage bust-up with a member of the audience, NME.COM
can exclusively reveal.

The singer was playing at the Great American Music
Hall as part of a North American tour in support of
his current album ’Solarized’ when the alleged
incident happened.

According to fans at the show, Brown was complaining
about the sound quality at the venue, and after three
songs got so upset he stopped the song.

One fan claimed: “This guy in a white top jumps onto
the stage from the crowd, rugby tackles Ian Brown to
the floor. Everything stops and the band members run
to the aid of their leader.”

A witness continued: “So this is where we think, ‘Well
that’s the show over, $30 wasted’. Then Ian Brown and
co come back on the stage after 15 minutes. The show
went on. Even though the sound was poor there was no
other fights, Ian stopped the band a couple of times
during ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ because of the sound and
feedback. Then they were gone.”

After the show he was arrested at his hotel and taken
for questioning.

However, a spokesperson for the singer told NME.COM
that at the time of going to press no charges had been
brought against the singer.

savage garden struck it huge there in the late nineties. Remember? They got like 5 number 1 hits, and were compared to INXS...

Nope, no luck. I tore up my office, my truck, my bedroom, dining room -- retraced my steps. I've checked the trash in our parking garage, my home trash, checked with my mom's caretaker to see if she happened to pick it up...and nothing. It's lost. Forever. And I've yet to tell my friend, Ian, what happened. I'll offer him my signed ticket stub but it won't be the same. His was personally autographed to him. *heavy sigh*

Thanks for asking, D.
