Not that I'm Irish, though, I do have green eyes and my hair is dyed with a reddish tint, I still plan on toasting to the Irish tonight. Company-sponsored bowling and drinking at the bowling alley (Gillian's) in Universal Studios. Anytime I get booze for free it's a good day!

What about you? Got any plans?

I'm Irish and Scandanavian. I sunburn in a parka.

My friend just recently found some Murphy's Red in Ohio and brought my back a few cans. I may have to drink that if i'm pleased with the NCAA tournament games tonight. If not it's straight to the Jager and vodka drinks.......and vomitting.

Hey, my dad's side of the family is Irish! I don't know if what I will be do ing tonight. At the very least, I'll get some Guinness or Murphy's Irish Stout and drink and watch The OC and maybe go to the bar downstairs at some point.

Or I could end up going bonkers and blacking out at 11pm and then waking up at 10 am for work like I did last Friday.

No celebrating tonight, self-imposed study schedule, despite my Irish roots. I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

However with some bright news for today, I just found out that I'm giving a talk in Dublin this June. All expenses paid conference there and the best part is that my talk is the first day of the conference, second session, leaving me the entire week to enjoy Dublin's finest, worry free. Top o' the morning!

I think you know, in your heart, what you have to do, my son.

I celebrated last night. A friend was in town, so we drank some beers and some shots, and then I cam home and killed a 6er before heading to bed. Even avoided drunk dialiing anyone...probably because I was already on the phone, and then chatting with Dr. Bloor.

I may go get a pint, but St. Patrick's is amateur hour. The night when every schmuck goes out. I don't need an excuse to drink.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all obners, though. I wish he had run those snake out of Alabama...I got a lake behind my place and I am sure I will be bitten one of these day.

Going to Athens tonight to drink my body weight in Guiness and check out this Trad. Irish band with a couple of friends.

I have a friend who lives down there and his wife and kids are gone all week to Disney World and I get the sense he's desparate to get in touch with his "Independent George".

Oh yeah, Happy St. Patty's day! I'm.....part Irish.

Also, I agree with Loogar's sentiments that St. Patty's is amateur hour. But D, that also makes it a more target rich environment.

One more thing, Green beer is for drinking tourists. Get a real beer.

Unfortunatley, the Cap'N and I are playing a gig at our regular sopt for the Governor and the Mayor among others at 4-6pm. then we have to play our regular gig from 8-?pm Too much playing in one night. Especially for people that are to busy talking about what percentage irish they are to even give a fuck.

Oh well, amateur hour or not, I'll be drinking as much beer as humanly possible. Cause I got one of these in San Fran as a gift.!

YOU SON OF A BITCH!! I hope you are taking a 'personal day' tomorrow. Dude, hit the Roadhouse like you are on a search and destroy mission. I am so fucking jealous. Then again, I'll be in N.O. tomorrow....still kinda like you said about SF -- it ain't no Athens.

I hear ya on the target rich environment, too. Kinda sucks that I live in the middle of nowhere, cos there's a great little Irish neighborhood bar that is just around the corner from where I used to live that I would love to stumble home from.

I've got some work to do at home (shopping for a new credit card machine) then out to the office for a bit. Then I'll be hunkering down with food and booze for a basketball marathon. I wouldn't go to a bar on St Patty's if...... well maybe if you bought my drinks. I like going out on mondays or wednesdays, not New Years or St Pattys...

That being said, I'm cracking a beer by one o'clock. Happy St. Patty's y'all!

I agree with the senator, but I'm going out tonight anyway, because some friends will be in town. We're going to the financial district, which has all of two irish bars. I think we're going to stock up at a friend's house in north beach, and then pretty much just walk around.

Top of the morning, bitches.

i always screw this holiday up by going out waaay too hard the night before and staying in on the actual day. This holiday always makes me think of puking bums in Savannah and laughing my ass off.

yesterday this Irish guy (and by that i mean actually from Ireland, not some Jersey dude with and Irish flag tattoo and a penchant for Guinness) was calling this country's celebration of today blatantly racist on account of everybody pretends their Irish by drinking themselves into a black hole. I kinda empathized with him. But then we were at a bar so what the fuck?

....and then after the 2nd show tonight, I gots to be seen at another place, where my old bandmates (irish band The Kissers) are playing until 1 or so. They moved to Boston, and they only make it out here a few times a year, so it's important. Maybe if we run into Chase I'll drag him out there.

Derris - what venue in Athens? I ask so that I may be accurate in my jealousy.

It's at the upstairs part of Wild Wings, former Athens Brew Pub. Should be pretty cool. It's a one time gig with a bunch of members of the UGA music school faculty playing trad stuff from Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and Appalachia. Instruments listed are penny whistle, accordion, fiddle, guitar, bass, percussion. This will most likely be followed by a trip by Flanagans and then of course the Roadhouse.

Oh man, just hearing those names give me serious Athensitis. Damn, ABC is gone? Used to enjoy the sheeeyat outta Tuesday's Dollar Pints offer. Get there right after class, hang out and drink and study, or just drink.

Watch out for fratboy fights in Flannigan's if it's like it used to be. Man, the friggin pope could get into a brawl at that place.

I'm quite Irish. The only thing I've done is I wore my emerald earrings.

And we may go get a bite to eat at Grace O Malley's down the road tonight.

Though it'll probably be packed and buying beer and making sandwiches and watching the O.C. may be our best bet.
