Anything other than Van Leer Rose, preferably Don't Come Home Drinkin' or one of her other good late '60s/early '70s albums.

A good comp will do, also.

Thanks.

I'll be searching for links in the meantime, and if I come up with something good on my own, I'll post it.

I'm probably just to going to listen to these once. Unless I really love some of it.

But the last thing I really need is more CDs.

Also I'm looking to acquire something for today or tomorrow.

See, I'm trying to decide whether or not to keep my copy of Van Leer Rose, and I want to listen to some of her old stuff the next time I listen to that to kind of help me evaluate it.

Found a link to a comp here:

Looks like this might cover it, but I'd still like to acquire Don't Come Home Drinkin'.

I can grab her "All Time Greatest Hits" from 2002 from usenet for you, if that suits you.

That photo is, indeed, "gold".

That would be great. For whatever reason, rapidshare keeps telling me my session has expired, and I haven't yet been able to download that Gold comp.

I don't understand this logic. If the album is good (which it is) how is it affected by the earlier stuff?

Give me a few minutes, and I'll up it.

I don't really like it anymore. I'm just trying to see if A) it actually stands up to her older stuff and is maybe worth holding onto, B) the older stuff somehow helps me appreciate it more, or C) I decide to get rid of VLR, but maybe I'll want to pick up one of her older albums at some point.

I can understand being tempted by drinky's logic. I found myself in the same boat awhile back. I don't like VLR but am guessing its because I don't really like Jack White. I kept it for longer than i probably would have on the logic that I should own some Loretta Lynn even if I don't like this one. Eventually your logic won out though that if its good on its own merits, I'd keep it but since I didn't care for it I tossed it.
