When searching for Dawes, I came across these guys. Apparently they tour together and seem to have the same kind of Americana sound. Not too bad.

Honestly, I've tried to get into Delta Spirit like three different times because I always see reviews (once I even got an email) about how they're soul-punk or soul-rock in the spirit of the Stones, but they sound like nothing other than boring-ass generic indie rock to me. There's a reason they're opening for the Shins.

It's all right, nothing to write home about after one listen. They're definite modern indie, but I'm of the opinion that it doesn't have to be completely negative descriptor.

yeah, i thought it wasn't that bad but the best song on it, sleepyhead, was already on their ep. i'll probably give it another listen sometime.
