Horford is probably a go tonight, Marvin probably not. (though I personally think he should play even if he can't shoot. You've got six fouls, son. Use them.)

I'm pretty resigned to the reality of a Game 7 on Sunday...

Marvin won't go because his vagina is hurt.

I think tonight's game could get nasty.

bulls-celts: best series ever?

I was born 'til '88, but it's definitely the best I've ever seen. Definitely the best first round series of all time.

The Cavs/Wiz first round series a few years ago was awesome and sorta similar from what I remember in terms of close games and OT's. Lebron was coming into his own and Arenas absolutely went off.

But yea, this one may be better.

not even the best bulls-celts opening playoff series people. and i thought FT was banned from all sports/music threads?
i love clutch shooting and hard fought OT games like the next nancy, but i hardly get excited watching two mediocre teams duking it out for second rd glory. this year's first rd has been death march slow - pare it back to a 5-game series. needless injuries might diminish and more excitement injected into games. all i really want to see is lebron v. kobe.

I think you'll get your wish on kobe v. lebron...

I'll agree with you that opening round is a death march and should be changed to 5 games, but you're wrong about this Bulls/Celts series...I don't care if they are mediocre, I have been thoroughly entertained by this series which doesn't happen often in the NBA.

No shit. He and Solomon Jones are going to have to go Mahorn and Lambeer and just thug it up in the lane tonight.

I want their lines to read:

Jones: 3 points, 6 rebounds, fouled out
Zaza: 6 points, 6 rebounds, 5 fouls

JJ, Josh, Flip, and Mo are going to have to win it. Just typing that makes me think Game 7 is inevitable.

Fucking pathetic. This is now the series of who wants to lose to the Cavs more.

The only winner of this series will be the owner(s) who will get to pack the house for a few more games.

Seriously, the final scores of this series are a gotdamn abomination.

Also, D.Wade is the biggest fake star ever who cries about everything. Such a bitch.

HAWKS WIN!!!

I don't think you people realize the gravity of the situation here (or futility of the situation depending on how you look at it). First time Hawks have gone to the 2nd round in 10 years and first time we've won a 7 game series since 1971.

That being said, that series was also the first time in NBA history where all seven games were decided by more than 10 points. Something around 15 lead changes for the whole series and whoever was ahead at the end of the 1st period won the game (because they never gave up the lead).

Least competitive 7 game series ever.

Still, it's nice to win it rather than lose it and I'll be happy if we take 1 game against the Cavs. If we take 2 then this post-season will have been a ridiculous success and an important building block.

Wade would have to get my vote for least deserving / most hateable finals MVP / championship winner in the history of the league. Such an entitled little shit.

man, I think you guys are way off on Wade, I mean I don't know the guy, but from what I hear he donates a lot of his time and money to charity and is an all-around decent guy. Granted he can be a little bit a whiner on the court, but If I had to carry my team as much as he has this year, I think I'd be prone to cry about a call now and then. Sure, he can seem a little smug, but who isn't in the League. ...whatever, wade is a superstar, and it isn't about being liked, it's about winning and Wade knows how to win, he just need a supporting cast around him that could help a little.

Yeah, pretty much a ridiculous performance by Rondo. The C's losing that first game may loom large. I think the Magic are beatable but I also don't think Boston can depend on Eddie House going off for 30 like last night.

Also, does anyone else think Kobe should be suspended for the elbow he threw at Artest?

Dwight Howard was suspended last series for essentially the same thing. Elbows above the shoulders are off limits.

Yeah, I would like to think that they kind of have to suspend him but don't think they will for some reason.

Suspended? Are you fucking high? It is the playoffs... and God knows Artest has never played rough. I don't think it is even a flagrant.

While Fisher sent a clear and important message (Houston in by nature and style, in game one, and through the first three quarters last night... plays rough and borderline dirty.. that's their strength), he probably should be suspended.

Of course that's your response.

The real question is was the elbow intentional or unintentional? Howard threw a completey intentional elbow last series and received a 1 game suspension (who by the way is one of the gamees biggest stars). The NBA has said that any player that deliberately throws an elbow at another player above their shoulders warrants a one game suspension

If the NBA thinks it was intentional then it ABSOLUTELY warrants a 1 game suspension if the NBA wants ANY sort of continuity with this type of thing. Also, Kobe has a history of being called out for wildly throwing bows on purpose.

I don't think the NBA will simply because it's probably a grey area as to whether it was intentional or not (and because he's their golden boy) but to claim I'm "high" for even thinking it just shows your homersim for your Lakers. Which is fair but I'll peg you as an "unintentional" guy.

i'll play it safe and concur with the rest of the analysts: kobe doesn't get suspended, possibly a low fine. rafer alston gets hit with hefty fine or one game suspension for the swipe taken at house's head. house should hit the floor hard in orlando. pierce deserves at the very least a one game suspension for his patchy facial hair.
