The number of haters for her are ridiculous but I'll take Hole over Nirvana any day and, despite what she herself has said, I thought her first solo disc was just as quality as any of the Hole recordings.

Every early thing I've heard about this album has been good and she's supposedly back on track and got her life in order and has been clean for a couple of years now. Rumors have circulated that this will be a big return to the top and femme-rock could use it as there's not too many women singers out there today with strength or an edge to them.

I saw this and passed. If it's great, let me know.

I didn't listen to her first solo disc, but "Celebrity Skin" is one of my favorite records. Some flat-out great catchy pop rock songs on that thing.

I think she is clean based solely on the fact that she looks "fat" (which means she is probably normal and just looks fat next to anyone who is anxorexic, ie everyone in hollywood). She was super thin for a while when she was using. that said, she is still bat-shit crazy.

I still like putting 'But Julian...' on some mixes. She just sounds so wrecked on that song.

My guess is it's more about the word hole than it is about the music of the respective bands.
