From the CBGB FB Feed:

On September 15, 2006, Lucero, hailing from Memphis, performed at CBGBs. This video intersperses band commentary into a live performance of “Tonight Aint Gonna Be Good.â€

Good for them. They earned it. Whatever "it" may be from Universal. I'd say it'll really help a band like this. One that it doesn't really matter if they sell a shitload of records. They've already got their fan base. More promotion and bigger appearances will only add to an already strong rock n roll brand.

In other news, The Reigning Sound have a new one, "Love and Curses", coming out on In The Red in July.

Figure I'd just put this here since the people who are into Reigning Sound probably like Lucero as well.

i'm not the most-informed person to be discussing this, but i have heard that universal is pretty pushy with bands of this caliber for getting them into commercials and onto tv shows (even if they don't really want to). so i wouldn't be surprised to hear their music in some ads or shows the next few months.

but if i had to guess, i'd say lucero's already had some promotion like that because every time they tour, they're playing bigger and bigger venues. but good for them. their albums are all really good, even though they're a terribly sloppy live band.

I got terribly sloppy the only time I've seen them live, so I wasn't able to notice.
