Too bad workplaces are terrified of sexual harrassment lawsuits, because all the No-Green-Wearing pinching might spice things up.

Amateur hour or not, I think it'll only be nice and right to have my first Irish shower on the occasion of my first St. Patrick's Day at a bar. (I know I'm a low slearner, so don't front, bitchez.)

It's weird, though, still. I am mostly Irish -- incidentally: the working title of the entry about Earth in the Hitchhiker's Guide (those Micks sure know to get around the world) -- but I have never felt the need to make a big whoop of St. Patrick.... It must be some subconscious thing; like LooGAR, I know I can (and should) get blitzed whenever, and there should be enough pride in that to make up for my less than full reverence for my Celtic root.

It's always fratboy night at Flannigan's. And about the brawl; been there, done that. Only it was Firehouse. Same difference.
Myself, I am not sure if I'll be going out. As has been said, holidays like this bring everyone out, and sometimes it's just too crazy. However, it is UGA's spring break, so the student population is gone. Either way, LP is where I'll probably end up. Happy Drinking Day! Yay, no snakes.

Depending on what time I get out of work today, BBQ @ a friend's house... and they're trying to drag me to a show at a local punk bar, but I'm not feeling it so we'll see.

Walked into Flannigan's once, and (bear in mind I look reeeally young) this super-stuck up sorority chick giggles in my face and says "dontcha have to be 21 to get in here?" and then turns to her friends and giggles some more. So I quip, "yeah, and I think they have a weight limit, too, girls." Bingo, hit home. So she turns around to her 6 foot 5 boyfriend (I'm 5'4", for reference) and says "that guy just grabbed my ass!"

Fun fun fun. Thank jeebus I was with my enormously tall roomates.

Ah Ha! Forgot about Lunch Paper. For some reason I kept thinking that she typed in LP by mistake and was thinking the Last Resort.

Flanagan's really hasn't been much of a fraternity bar since spring of 2000. Since then it is more sketchy Truett/people who never left the suburbs but come to athens to party bar. If you want Fratariffic you have to head to Boar's Head (which i still like)

Oooh, the 'ol Hoar's Bed! Man, they used to have the BEST band playing policies at that place... No cover, you could pass a bucket, decent-ish stage, good enough P.A., and the best part? 10% of the bar at the end of the night. We left with close to $300 some nights, when making $100 at a gig was something special. Then they stopped.

What the heck is an Irish shower?

As for myself, I'll be attending a beer-and-potato party @ a friend's place for a bit, but I don't forsee any great drunken excursions this evening...

yet.

I always thought the Irish shower was simply to wake up and throw on some deoderant.

Dude, that place is blessed / cursed... when I was in school there, Fred Savage from the Wonder Years was spotted there (don't ask me why, cannot remember, something about being a tennis fan and we hosted a tournament?) and it made the student papers.

Yail wins. LP= Lunch Paper. It is in one half of the old Engine Room space down by the 40 Watt. The other half is now Room 13. Flannigan's is still pretty frattastic by my standards anyway. I try to stay away from all those places because my friends like to start stuff. I'm sure there will be something Irish-themed going on at Molly's tonight. But it's not free-wings night, so I won't be there.

I love Molly's. 1$ Apps during happy hour. Decent Musick. Good mixture of people gay/straight black/white male/female.

I thought it was cologne, but, whatever.

The Irish smell from not bathing, ever. That's why they've had to make a soap precisely for them, in an effort to induce cleanliness.

I don't think it's worked, yet.

It's my birthday today, so I think that automatically makes me part Irish. I'm getting drunk and plan to continue all day. It turns out that sitting in class while drunk is not particularly fun, though  .
