despite the renovation, it pretty much sucks, and that is due to live nation.

what they don't tell you when you buy a $50 dollar ticket to see the Shins that is general admission, is that you need a special blue wristband to get down onto the floor, and you only get the blue wristband if you get there early enough.

luckily, and i mean luckily, i bitched and moaned at some live nation functionary into giving me and my pal one...but all of the arguing harshed my concert mellow.

all of of my other friends were SOL, and had to watch from this crowded back section. the palladium really is a kick ass venue, but i'm not sure if i can support live nation shows there anymore.

on a more positive note, delta spirit and the shins (with 2 new members) were excellent.

ugh, the palladium.

it's a 30 dollar ticket but jumps to 50 with god damn fees.

now, i know, dave, but there was no notice of this policy shift from the old palladium.

It's the same situation when you go to The Wiltern (also a Live Nation venue). Just because you have a floor ticket doesn't mean it's gonna get you in there if you arrive late and everyone else got there early.

Chalk it up to a lesson learned.

oh trust me, I would have raised hell too...but with people cracking down on fire codes and capacities it can be a touchy subject.

My friends went thru this with Pennywise at the Palladium a few months back (no, I don't hangout with people in raised trucks who wear wife beaters and boardshorts year round. Just people with questionable musical taste.)

I guess enough people were pissed off that a huge group, including my friends, just bum rushed the floor. Once they worked themselves into the established crowd security had no recourse.

HaHa...man what a dick!
