I'll admit it, I'm a collector. While the convenience of printing an electronic version of my ticket is great, there's that less-than-satisfactory feeling of having a 'real' ticket stub to hold on to.

Which do you prefer?

ticket stub, all the way

the Old Crow Medicine Show show last week forced me to go will-call, so no ticket

will-call also caused me to miss Justin Townes Earle, but that's a different thread

I like putting my concert ticket stub in the jewel case (between the case and back art) of the album for which the tour is supporting.

physical ticket stub, but it seems like more and more venues are going to print-outs or door will-call lists.

I do physical mainly because it costs more to do e-tickets. Not that it makes a lick of sense...

exactly. I don't understand why they charge for use of a technology that saves them printing and postage cost.

I also like the stubs because whenever I accumulate enough I make a collage out of them which I frame and hang in my upstairs bathroom.

Same here. I have couple fo shoe boxes full of stubs that I plan on putting all together and framing someday.

Actually surprises me that a board full of music geeks wouldn't have more reverence for the concert ticket stub.

Yes it's a bit precious but I like having the artifact.

I also like going through my old sports tickets as well. I try to remember to write the final score on them or if something of note happened like "Maddux- Complete game - 13 K's" or "GW FG by Kicker XYZ".

Yeah stopped collecting tickets some time in my mid 20's. Not sure why...

Really wish I hadn't done that. I remember a dude when I was 12 showing me a ticket stub from a KISS concert in '76 and I thought it was coolest thing EVER.

I'd love to have some to show my kid that he/she thinks is as cool.

it's just one of those things i don't care about. my memory of the show, and photos are more important.

don't get me wrong, i get why people keep them.

I stopped twice and tossed 'em all. I regret it too. I think its part of the reason I made the collages. They don't seem worth keeping when they're in a shoebox unlooked at. I like getting out of the shower though and seeing a ticketstub from an old show and briefly thinking back about it.

Maybe its because I'm old and have been to lots of shows but having tossed a ton of tickets, there are a bunch of bands that I have a feeling that I've seen (Pretenders, Julian Cope, Graham Parker, etc) but couldn't say for sure or remember any particulars about.

i have a folder full of tickets that i'm planning to put together in some way. in lieu of tickets, i'll usually keep wristbands from shows, especially if the venue/date is on them.

I prefer a physical ticket that I'll keep, but I'm not too partial either way.
