Yes, I plan on going to Amoeba, and hope to see him at the palace of fine arts on Friday as well. Thanks for the reminder! :)

So I saw Mr. Burke on Saturday at Amoeba. He was an hour late because he was stuck in traffic caused by a large demonstration near the civic center, which I had actually left early from to see Solomon!

Amoeba was packed -- he was really surprised to see so many fans there. He said that he thought there would be like 3 people there to see him. I'm actually not familiar with his material, though after seeing him and listening to the new album (which I got signed) I definitely want to check out more of his stuff.

He only played a few songs (since it was an in-store and also he had to get back on the road), but man, what a voice! At one point he put down the mic and just let it rip. Thanks for twisting my arm, Tania :D

As a side note, the "stage" is right next to the oldies section, so I spent an hour flipping through cds. There are some great old album covers -- I love all the ones of families wearing identical costumes, leaning in and smiling.

Ohhhhh, David, I am SO glad that you went! And equally pleased that you found him intriguing enough to wanna check out more of his stuff. Can't wait to see him here!

DAMM YOU FANCYPANTS!!!

That kicks ass.

There are rarely any good in-stores around here. The only place I've seen one was at the Tower here and was the Thrills. I didn't even know it was happening. I just got lucky and went cd shopping one random Saturday.

Oops. I guess I am a few days too late on this post. Sorry Tania. Don't hit me.
