i was happy to hit 100K plays but saw another guy i know with 140K and an obner may actually have the most plays:

When I see people who have an outrageous number of plays, I always assume that they just leave music playing on their computer all day even though they're not listening to it.

I've got 38.5k since '05.

I've got around 120k but it's all music I've listened to. A lot of people just leave it running 24 hours a day to increase their stats.

apparently they have a new feature now that stops your stream after an hour or so of continuous play

the app spits out a popup that asks you if you're still there or if you had to take a phone call

this is because they are paying on a per stream rate, and this model is most likely going to kill them and most other heavy stream sites.

i saw someone recently who had about 250,000 plays. when i looked at his recently played list he had about 3 or 4 songs listed as playing at the exact same time. maybe people scrobble more than one ipod?
