They're my son's favorite band and I know that I will be frequently subjected to this for a long while.

Well, it's a Green Day album. There aren't any real surprises here, aside from some piano in one song. If your kid likes them, chances are this will delight and amuse.

It's just all right. Overly long collection of pop songs with some sort of overarching theme that I can't really piece together. I've never been a serious fan of the band or even of the genre of which they were formerly associated ('punk', 'pop-punk' etc.), so I can't generate any genuine bile to say it really fucking sucks because I don't really care that much. It's just a rock and roll album done by a band who really inspired by The Who. My main complaint with it, honestly, is the length. If they trimmed a few of the longer middling tracks down to the few with some decent hooks I'd be more apt to play it more because there are a few decent songs. As blasphemous as this might be to some, one could say the same exact same thing about Tommy. So in this regard, the album is a massive success.

Great southern rock and country-soul from one of my favourite years, 1972. 'Wine' is furious and may be my theme song for the movie of my life, and his cover of Dylan's 'John Brown' is truly frightening.

I'm gonna order this one of these days. I've still never heard it.

Yeah I was in the same boat and made an impulse purchase when I saw dusty groove was selling it for $7.00. Its pretty good and I can see why people would say its an underrated Kinks release. The best songs on it are also on Kink Kronikles though. I'm not really sure I needed it in retrospect but I'm not gonna sweat the $7.00.

Jack Oblivian's new band/album, bluesy garage-style rock. Awesome record.
