It was just hazy when we got here - supposed to rain all weekend.

That's ok, as the inside of this joint is bigger and nicer than my fucking house.

Friday: Saw a friend in a play. Drank enough Scotch to miss a reasonable train home. Had to get a taxi home form ~30 miles out.

Saturday: Thought about a country walk and opted out. Chilled and re-cataloged my Rock Band 2 songs.

Sunday: Gavin's back from China for a few weeks, and it's his birthday today. I'm taking the Xbox and aforementioned Rock Band catalog to his mom's house for some right silliness.

Monday: Wake up with GavFam. Get home eventually.

I accidentally ended up drinking for 14 hours yesterday and may or may not be banned from my pool.

In 20 years you'll regret the things you haven't done much more than the things you have.

This may have some credence in the modern internet audio forum geek world, but I don't have those kind of regrets.

Some of my favourite times were when I accidentally got drunk, or more accurately, unintentionally got drunk; like when you head out to go get some groceries, bump into a guy you haven't seen in years and spend the rest of the day in a blind haze of rye and beer.

So the trip went very well. I'm sore as a motherfucker. The campsite (Moose Brook) was great, pretty quiet, decent amenities. The meetup group we went with was small and nice. No wierdness.

Saturday we hiked the Imp Trail. 6.2 miles and it climbs to up over 4,000 ft, eventually to a killer overlook. My knees damn near quit on me on the way down though. 1.5 hours of steeeeep uphill, followed by 3 hours of mid-grade downhill with very few level places.

PORCUPINES ARE BIGGER THAN I REALIZED, AND UGLY

The trail was gorgeous, with a lot of stream crossings

Overlook at the top. Derris - Mt Washington is one of those over there in the background.

All the way down, all I could think about (besides "fuck my knees are killing me" and "it smells wonderful out here") was that this beautiful thing was in the cooler waiting for me:

Happy doggies. These little fuckers love going camping, probably because their odds of getting people food (ie hot dogs) goes up like 1000%.
