The plan is to meet at 3PM for mexican and margaritas at El Arroyo Mexican restaurant. I'll ditch out around 5 or 5:30PM to make sure that I have stuff set up at my house, and then people can drop in and out until I am too drunk to function as a host. My house is 1704 E M Franklin Avenue, Apt C. The driveway eats undercarriages, so unless you have a truck I say park in the street.

People who are coming over to my place should bring a drink or snack to help me defray the cost of the homebrew - I have enough homebrew for us to drink, but not to be drunk. I am planning on snacks, but if we reach critical mass maybe we can go in on pizzas at some drunken point in the evening. If you are leaving my house for sxsw shows, you can leave your car and get a taxi - or, better, stay just sober enough to drive safely.

Hopefully we'll have mainly Obnish, some of my musician friends, and a smattering of generally cool Austinites in attendance.

Oh yeah - the homebrews that will be available Friday: Mocha Java Oatmeal Stout, Defensive Creature Real Ale.

Let me know here if you are going to make it, or if you have comments/questions - if you can't make it, that's cool, but you don't need to fill this thread telling me so - we've dona a good enough job of that in Bob's "Big Announcement" thread.

Folks, we'd love to see ALL of you there. And even if you've already said you can't make it, if something changes that would enable your attendance, don't feel sheepish...we WANT you there!!!

And HUGE thanks up front to Colin (Chuck D) for his unending generosity in serving as host, Trev (babe) for helping out with the logistics in the midst of his wedding and honeymoon, and Shawn (jagged) for personally helping me with acommodation issues.

I WILL have my digital camera on hand for tons and tons of pics, all of which will be posted for everyone to see what they missed by not joining us!!!

One suggestion - those who come to my house should burn a cd or bring an iPod with a few specific tracks to play as "guest dj" for the amusement of all.

Good news folks - I'll review liquid soul later, but want you who are coming to know that we will have at least one band playing at the obner afterparty, maybe more if i can get some old bandmates in town.

At 8PM, Dogme 95, from Chicago, Illinois will be playing in my living room. If any Texans remember the Audiophiles, Nick used to be their bassist. this will be fun.

There may be a KBT reunion, too, and maybe part of my new band.

As I said before, bring some beer, bring some snack, bring a cd-r or an iPod to dj with, and prepare to have a good time. We might have as many as 5 or 6 bands represented , so these will be fun people to hang with.

I love it when a party just . . . grows.

Yeah, I too regret not getting my shit together, but being out of work for 4 months and then getting read the riot act by my boss did not lend itself to taking off for Austin for few days. Next year, when I am out on my onw, working for myself and taking over the world, I will be there. If I was y'all, I'd start preparing now.
