I thought it was pretty damn good.
Not that I have listened to (or really searched out) any modern Rocksteady, but this is the only recent album that I've heard that does that style really well. (You know of any others?)

Give it up, you don't like this band.

well i guess if that one is an example of their good stuff, then yeah. i honestly didn't think it was terrible when it was on the radio all the time way back when, but just kinda lumped it in with throw-away crap like the mighty mighty bosstones.

Who would have thought Rancid would be this polarizing? One of a handful of Line in the Sand bands for the board.

I'm surprised at this too, as Rancid has a far more diverse audience than most bands under the punk umbrella. For example, at the Ozzfest/Warped meetup years ago when I saw them, Rancid was one of few bands that Ozzfesters crossed the line for.

Also, when was Rancid ever played on the radio? You cool, big city kids have some choices, I guess?

Also, I can't even remember them being big enough to grace the cover of music mag like SPIN (although I vaguely recall a red cover and someone with a mohawk so I might be mistaken on that one), so I find it a little baffling that any mass media outlet could be explicitly suggesting to anyone that they Must Like Rancid.

every dirt bag that mows lawns down here is into these guys. they are/were really big on the cheesiest rock station here, playing alongside fellow heavy shitters like Green Day, Bosstones, No Doubt, Creed, etc.

a know a few of their fans. quality folk.

seems like a metal fan would be more careful about judging the quality of the music by the quality of the fans
