Has anyone tried Rosetta Stone software for learning a foreign language? If so, how does it compare to more traditional language classes, like University classes, etc.?

I had to do five hours of this shit per semester and it was miserable. I would only do it if you have a HIGH tolerance for repetition. Also, I didn't really learn anything from it except how to say clown in Russian, as the slides inexplicably FREQUENTLY feature clowns.

found it fairly useful when learning German before our first trip there a few years ago. you will definitely learn faster than taking a Uni course.
