Mostly. There are a few tracks that are better within the context of the whole album and don't stand alone all that well and Catherine Ireton's voice is much more interesting than the other two ladies' voices. There are two instrumentals and there's a song where Stuart Murdoch sings, making it almost completely a Belle & Sebastian song.

The whole thing is Belle & Sebastian filtered through 60's pop and then through 21st century British female perspective.

It has all of what I liked about Last Shadow Puppets but with a Saint Etienne sensibility. RIYL Camera Obscura.

Doesn't hurt that the three ladies are gorgeous either.

But then I've had a GHTG in my last 5 mixes and have a 6th coming up in the next one, so yeah I like the album.

Also I ignored Art Brut, Bat For Lashes and Japandroids because I thought their names were dumb and figured they'd be just competent electropoppy stuff. And in all three cases the past week i liked them when I finally heard them. Not on my best-of, but I was suprised.

I guess I do shy away from college "it" bands a bit if the name of the band seems clunky.

Bat For Lashes kinda reminds me of Tori Amos, if she was on 4AD.

i actually have quite a few friends here at this board as i have been around for over five years now. so i can care less when DDR or other yahoo's say something negative about me. in fact DDR has never, ever said anything positive or engaging to me. it's always been a post to put me down so now i just ignore it. he hasn't really been around that long and i'm over all this negative bullshit. but when someone like Mick says something like that i take notice, because even though we may disagree about what we like musically, in the past, there have been some engaging and fun threads. i post on quite a few boards but this is my first and i have a special bond with obner, so yeah sometimes it hurts. sure i should just say it's the internet but really it is more than that when you have spent that much time in one place.
