Classic records lost in time and format, re-emerged as Pelican books. Just for fun.

Yeah, I saw this posted somewhere's..kinda cool, probably didn't take too much effort. Love that Strokes cover.

FR - I saw your comment on Le Samourai...frickin' love that movie. I bought the criterion a while ago, but haven't had a chance to re-watch it yet. Have you seen Le Deuxième Souffle by Melville, I'd rec that one too, not as good as Samourai, but still quality.

Nope. I haven't seen much Melville, which is odd because I'm completely in love with the Criterion French new-wave releases. I have Le cercle rouge in my queue.

I was hoping for more extras on the disc. Is it packaged as a 2-discer or 1? There are some interviews from French tv, and then some commentaries by a couple of authors. Breezed through them, and was meh on most. Even searching the internet there isn't much info on Le Samourai, so it doesn't surprise me that the disc isn't loaded.

Didn't John Woo do a essay for the DVD? I should find that online.

It's a 1-discer which is disappointing, and the features are pretty weak aside from a great interview with Delon on some French TV show. The Booklet isn't bad and yeah, Woo did a write up. He loved Melville, apparently all the hipsters in hong kong were dressing like Delon in Samourai after Woo introduced Melville over there in the 80's

Le Cercle Rouge is great, as is Army of Shadows.

Cool, yeah I'll check them all out. After I get Killing Fields and *fingers-crossed* Zabriskie Point, that is.

I know what you mean...there have been a ton of em lately. I did like the wu-tang covers done in blue note style, though.
