There's something right about a lot of his song titles. Never heard a note of the music, but he at least does that part well.

I feel so much better about hating that band.

...

Charles Mingus - "Please Don't Come Back from the Moon"

Apparently there's now a book named after this.

First one that I thought of.
Another great Minutemen title:
"Political Song for Michael Jackson to Sing"

also:

Camper Van Beethoven - "Take the Skinheads Bowling"
Mojo Nixon - "Debbie Gibson is Pregnant With My 2-Headed Love Child"
Bonzo Dog Band - "Jazz: Delicious Hot, Disgusting Cold"
Bonzo Dog Band - "Noises For the Leg"
Chumbawumba - "Give the Anarchist a Cigarette"

This got me wondering....

Electric Wizard
Withcult Today

1. Witchcult Today
2. Dunwich
3. Satanic Rites Of Drugula
4. Raptus
5. The Chosen Few
6. Torquemada 71
7. Black Magic Rituals & Perversions: Frisson des Vampires/Zora
8. Saturnine

Not as bad as I was picturing, but worth it for Track 3 alone.

metal, with its over-the-top caricaturism and graphic novel sensibilities, will always score highly in the ridiculous song name game

I really had higher hopes for Electric Wizard. If your band name is that bad, your albums and songs ought by all rights be just breath-takingly bad, but color me surprised.

I think you overestimate how seriously a stoner metal band like Electric Wizard takes itself.

At first I mis-read that.

So you think it's tongue-in-cheek?

Yeah, somewhat.

It's not all a big joke, but I think there's some intended campy-ness, or something like that.

yeah you may well be right. huh.

Other sources suggested the band's absence had a lot more to do with crippling weed consumption and/or simple lack of motivation, but all speculation was duly obliterated by the long-awaited arrival of the band's third magnum opus, 2000's superlative Dopethrone. Like its predecessor four years prior, Dopethrone was a revelation in terms of absolute mass applied to amazingly memorable songwriting. In fact, it so effortlessly bridged the stylistic gaps between doom, sludge, stoner, horror, and, at times, even space metal,

They don't sound all that serious.

Also that last line... I, ... :nono:
