Thank you to (POD) Phil for turning me on to Fiona Apple
Thank you to Billy G for turning me on to Timbalada
Thank you to Mojo for turning me on to The Webb Brothers

And, I think this one is correct?:
Thank you to Radcliffe(?) for turning me on to Joe Pisapia

While that may or may not be correct at the end Todd, i can safely say:

Thank you to billyg for turning me onto Joe Pisapia.

It may have been Billy G who sent me that burn of Daydreams (which I have since given away and purchased a proper copy).
I think that you're right (sorry Billy).

Radclifee - too many to count, but Ike Reilly really stands out.

Tanner/Fu - Lucero

A lot of the board, but FT for the music, and Bloor and Radcliffe for constantly telling me to revisit until I consider them one of the best bands going today -- Spoon.

I'm sure there are more, but looking at my music folder, these stand out:

Dalen for Julien Neto

Dumpjack for Ronnie Hawkins

Gauchebagfor Feu Therese

Seriously

Thanks to billy g for turning me onto Caetano Veloso and playing a big part in getting me to finally check out a ton of other things, especially Richard Thompson-related stuff.

I can't remember who specifically was responsible or if there was any one person, but since I started posting on CMJ about 6 years ago, I've started listening to The Kinks, The Jesus Lizard, Eric Dolphy (plus a whole lot of other '60s Blue Note stuff), XTC, and lots of other artists that have become really, really important to me.

Dalen - Clientele, Helios, Mercy Arms, Cut Copy, Razorlight, Delays and so on
Radcliffe - Prophet, Vetiver, Clean, Womack, Nile, Hunter, Church, Heavenly States and so on
Bloor- Marah
Gar - Reigning sound[I think]
Squirgs - Star Room Boys
Saint - Viva Voce
mcaputo - outrageous cherry
Fu - doleful lions
DJack - T. Hall, edit: shit how could I forget Zevon
Jsh - juana molina
FT - Glossary, Minus 5
Fspoon- Crooked Fingers, Caribou
billyg - south san gabriel
e-stone - war on drugs, calexico, and [I think] Calla
HaqD - Bishop Allen
PoD - [I think] Bonnie Prince Billy aka. The Palace which led me to anomoanon
Billze - Go-Betweens

and whoever mentioned Sharon Jones, I'm sure there are others out there I'm forgetting

Big Ups to all of you. You all should know that I have purchased at least one album from all these artists, in most cases 2 or more. These artists get constant spinning and often returned to for pleasure every year. I have also shared these artists with numerous others with much appeal. I think its funny sorta that the two often musically opposed members here have both contributed to my liking a ton of new music.

Ah look at the group hug thread...

billyg is gonna be the big winner here, I can't even recall how much he's recommended to me but standouts are probably Bobby Whitlock, Eggs Over Easy, and the best of all, Jesse Ed Davis.

Radcliffe, also too many to consider but probably Exploding Hearts, Artful Dodger, Chuck Prophet, Slow, Ike Reilly, Diamond Dogs et al., and Pat Todd.

And of course Bloor/Gar for making me a Grateful Dead fanatic.

After much resistance on my part, I succumbed to their incessant promotion, so...

Thanks Rads for Ike Reilly.

For a guy who gets shit for not talking music enough...that name keeps popping yup an awful lot.

Its funny how these things roll downhill. For example, I turned seafoam on to Marah but I'm pretty sure that Fu turned me on to them.

A couple off the top of my head:
Rads: Thunders
BG: John Doe(solo)
Dalen The Libertines
Fu: Lucero (and the aforementioned Marah)

Also, Gar and Derris would definitely win this thing for me hands down, but a lot of it hapnd pre-obner/cmj.
