Actually CatsBand wasn't that bad. I put that on once in awhile, or some of it anyway.

Radcliffe was correct about the playing and singing. It's not that they're out of tune or wonking notes, it's that they only have two volumes.... On and Off. Power chords and fuzzy distortion with chorus on all 3 songs so far, all of it sounds like one big soup. And that drummer has one fucking fill. Man. This really makes me appreciate good drumming.

If it was just boring guitar playing and everything else was great, it'd be different. But throw in really bad singing buried in the mix, and a drummer with less skill than most highschool kids, and it gets hard to ignore. The more I think about it the more they do sound like a highschool band to me. That album cover is straight out of Graphic Arts class. Fuck even the bass has fuzz on it...? Jesus guys.

My 2 cents: It's not awful, or deserving of a shit-ton of scorn, but man is it ever meh. Just sloppy and average ... meh. Sorry.
