no i didn't...but tentoze probably doesn't know that a 13 yo billy g's first concert experience was Molly Hatchet and Southern Cross on the Flirtin' With Disaster tour.

I was being facetious, of course. It's not essential listening except during truck draggings and hillbilly rapes.

Cool, four pages.

Commander Cody, Lost in the Ozone... a little honky tonk, but I'm just sayin'

And Rad is correct, if the Eagles had never sold any records and no one had heard them and someone discovered the long lost Deperados, they'd be a cult favorite.

Yeah i'm pretty pleased that this actually started a music discussion that wasn't a bunch of bitching between the ppdd'ers and the regrockers.

I think the band that I woke up lamenting not including was Eric Quincy Tate. Either of their first two albums could have made my top 25.

Also deserving some honorable mention:

Head, Hands & Feet
Levon Helm's early solo work
Swampwater

Jeez, there's a moldy vinyl Old Soldiers Never Die somewhere in this house... I haven't even thought of them in over 30 years at least.

It's skirting the definition, but Rick Danko's 1977 solo album is pretty sweet as well.

I need to read more-closely. It's hard with these long posts to comb through them all.

yeah it's hard, but i'm posting less than in previous years, probably because i'm scanning threads looking for threads that pique my interest, and those are the ones i'm reading closely and maybe posting in.

I was researching them one night late last year after you recommended them to me and discovered that I'd missed a live set they were playing about 1.5 miles from my house by about 15 minutes. I never could find a download for the album or it priced cheap enough to want to buy it without hearing more. It seems like they play in LA once or twice a month though so I do plan to eventually catch a show and buy their cd assuming they sound good live.
