There's a style of beer here in Dusseldorf that's apparently specific to this area- called altbier. I just finished, ummm, several of one of the many brands available-this one called Frankenheim. Good. Damned good. Dark amber, pretty hoppy, but clean finish. What y'all having?

Just got back from Florida 'toze & drank tons of Sam Adams Boston -- love the price of it down there -- to xpensive up in Ontario -- too bad the trip's over.

Screwdriver + Galliano = Harvey Wallbanger

Just got back from "Law Clerk at the Capital" day, where the firm lobbyists showed us what they do. I'm breaking out the Overholt, and enjoying being a working man again.

If it's anything like Alabama, it;s a lot of standing around, furious rumor mongering, false information dissemination.

I've been meaning to start drinking some rums. I've never really ventured out past the common bar brands, which I don't like at all.

I got back from Houston a little while ago, and having Grolsch as the go-to, but I DO have a six of Bell's Oberon in the fridge as well.

Honestly, it's only been the last two years for me. Before then, I'd have some Bacardi White around for mixing some summery type drinks but never really drank it seriously. Then I had some decent rum and became a fan. It seems to be one of the last of the dark spirits that I can tolerate reasonably well.

$1 Tall boy night with two of my friends as Deejays. I had a High Life bottle before the special kicked in, then I had two Old Milwaukee tall boys and an Old Style Tall boy for a quarter more.
I am now drinking a Luna Sea ESB from the local Empyrean brewery.

There's a brewery out in western Mass called Pretty Things, that I just found beers from at a little local produce shop near home. Figured I'd try their belgian first.

Saison Americain

Image

It was good, more dry and spicy than normal belgians, and not as strong a flavor, but still good. I wouldn't take it over a Saison Dupont though. I need to try some of their other stuff.

Also tentoze those Alt pics are makin' me drool. I luuuuuved Hannen Alt when I was there. Entspannen Mit Hannen!

exactly. There's a bar in Pittsburgh that was the size of a dime that had nothing but like 40 bottles of vodka, a stack of fresh fruit 4 feet high, 3 massive juicers, and tabletop ms. pac man. I fucking miss that place.

holy shit, this place sounds like heaven.
