That's why when we hear the new Dino Jr. we ask "who's that other voice"?

I still really like this album, 'Careful' gets mixed a lot.

Not a weak moment on there. My favorite of theirs overall.

i was hoping i wouldn't be the first, oh well. The beginning of the end. Two or three solid songs, but way too boring for a full listen. The album that took them off the slot of my favorite band*

*these are my 19 year old opinions, I haven't given it a lisetn in a while. Maybe I should.

Wow, Jewels - surprised you think that. I guess this album is sorta monolithic, though.

I think this is the only album where they play convincingly well-executed complete songs with tasteful arrangements.

I love Freed Weed and III as well, but they got more and more disjointed before this album. This one's cohesive.

If only we had an album of Bakesale-era Barlow and Loewenstein and III-era Gaffney.

The lyrics to "Mystery Man" get me every time.

i didn't so much miss the Gaffney songs as much as I missed the push and pull of having him there. Stripped of that I found the album kind of dull. Though there is a very good chance II was just burned out on Lou as up until this album I bought nearly everything I could get my hands on.

Lou recorded three or four bakesale songs stripped down to just him and guitar, and I enjoyed those quite a bit

there are people out there who have never heard this?
wow.

I realized why I thought of this:
I saw Laurel Canyon a few days ago and Lou Barlow is in it.

Man, I forgot how much I listened to Magnet's Coil and Rebound in college. Those were my ultimate "feeling rejected by [insert name of girl here]" songs.
