The only thing I'm gonna do is "require" for lack of a better word that they take one year or so of piano lessons if they want to play an instrument or do anything musical. Its only a year and a year's worth of piano lessons can pay dividends forever.

I wish someone had made me do this.

It's fucking funny. In my house growing up was a baby grand piano and mom who was classically trained. She tried so hard to get me some basic skills, going through lesson books with me but somehow I could never separate my hands. I can plunk out some chords but god what a crying shame. What was wrong with me?

Well, at least now all future fires will be seen more easily, I guess.

the didactic concept sucked.
it should have been like "when you're able to write an epic song until next christmas, you will get this ________ (insert a toy you always wanted). plus, later, the girls will drive crazy for you. you'll remember my words, son."

Berliner - my dad tried that track with me on guitar. "you should play guitar, son.". Why? "girls love it.". EWWWW GROSS! That doesn't work on eight year olds.

Once I was 13, however, and saw even skinnier / uglier white kids than me with girls watching them play guitar, it got suddenly worth considering.

This kind of reminds me of that pic of bort at the diner with the table-top jukebox.

Remember the commercials for the at-at's, where they showed it crushing an ice cube under its foot? Man they just don't make toys that inspire terror like that anymore.

lol, man we love Yo Gabba Gabba and Muno (that "dildo('s)" name) but you've got to wonder where they came up with the design for that character as that connection is IMPOSSIBLE for an adult not to make.

I think it'd be pretty sweet to have an Ewok head mounted in the study or something.

I had the village when I was a kid. My parents put it on LAY AWAY () and then payed it off early after I slipped on a grate before school and busted all my teeth out.

i'm convinced it's a nod to modern day swingin parents, kind of like how Merry Melodies would throw an over-30 joke in the mix every once in a while back in the day
