The only backlash you're courting is over your weirdo decision to nominate two-fers.

Is it worth it to participate if you know your choices will not get any votes outside of your own?

Eh...

Queensryche "Operation:Mindcrime"
Afghan Whigs "Black Love"

I'm not gonna back down on Steve Reich... Captain Beefheart I suppose was iffy, though that was the only way it was released on CD as far as I'm aware. But post edited.

I don't know. With that logic I could nominate The Beach Boys "Smiley Smile/Wild Honey" because that was how it was released on cd.

"Different Trains" could stand on its own. Putting it with "Electric Counterpoint" is kinda wonky, since the latter is part of another set of "Counterpoint" comps.

think we can safely say that with Captain Beefheart and Steve Reich, it won't matter.

Depending on the matchup, I'd choose Safe As Milk.

So we've got 58, and you're going for 160?

Why not stop at a nice number like 64?

Dammit, Gordo, you should have picked either I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight or Unhalfbricking.

Somebody nominate On the Beach, and we're good.

What can I say? Got a soft spot for Rumor and Sigh; it was the first RT I heard. And if I was going Fairport Convention, it would be Liege & Lief by a narrow margin over Unhalfbricking.
