So true. I just did a preliminary glance and found 91 contenders (not including this year).

Yeah, I wish I'd kept track of my favorites in the first half of this decade as well as I have for the latter half.

If I wanted to get all serious about making a list, there are easily 200+ albums I should probably revisit.

Where will the Wrens place?

Few that come to mind, though I'm not sure they'd be number ones;

Ted Leo 'Shake the Sheets'
Pernice Brothers 'Yours, Mine & Ours'
Delgados 'Hate'
Buelah 'Yoko'
Mountain Goats 'The Sunset Tree'
Appleseed Cast 'Two Conversations'

i think that "yankee hotel foxtrot" the original release may have slipped in my mind, but the engineer version has kept the album fresh for me. I don't know if that counts or not.

i love how I get stuck with the nazi references for suggesting youtube vids go into the youtube thread right there on the same page, and yet when bg does one of his "you already did this 3 years ago" searches, not a peep.

Yeah, I know I've done it before, but I always think of albums that had slipped through the cracks. That happens because I didn't keep running lists for each year prior to about 2005.

So this should all just go in one of the previous threads?

This difference is that the decade is almost over now. There's a little bit more of a legitimate reason to make a thing out of it.

No, not at all. I think you're absolutely right to wonder aloud.

My joke/question was aimed at Shiv and Haq.

poor squirrgle - a victim of injustice again.

I don't know what you're talking about regarding youtubes but if you re-read my post with an open mind, you'll see i was trying to be helpful in providing a link to where people thought about this topic a few years ago.

I didn't complain that FT is starting a new thread. Its perfectly appropriate to do so. I just thought people might like the link to find their last list to revise rather than starting all over.

settle down. nobody's upset. It was a quick joke about something trivial. You're putting much more thought / effort into this than is needed.

edit: this is the key part
