Came across this on a defunct blog and thought surely Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Jerry Lee and all must have been influenced by it.

Goree Carter & His Hepcats - "Rock Awhile"

Early rock fans here may already know this but I'd never heard this tune.

Vol 1 of Atlantic's 30 Years of Rhythm & Blues box set is the Jumping The Blues anthology but I can't remember where I saw the link.
