I never got that "I didn't even watch the game...." That's like a football (soccer) fan saying "I didn't even watch the World Cup Final..."

i feel like i've pulled that card, and when someone says it to me about something I enjoyed I cringe. I hope I never pull that card again.

Yeah there was also no draft or salary cap so you could get any players you wanted and keep them forever.

Why? That draft back then was a total sham and there was no salary cap. I'm not diminishing the greatness of Russell or Auerbach or those Celtics teams but that was an entirely different sports landscape.

no, you're right about limited player movement and salary, but we both know there was a draft back then and the Hawks drafted Russell just to trade him for a bag of balls.

But the World Cup Final is just one game. After the awesome playoffs that preceded it, this series kinda stunk and I was done with it after the first couple of games. There's only so many times I can watch the Magic choke. And I'm just about the biggest basketball fan I know.

In other news, Hawks send Acie Law IV and Speedy Claxton to Golden State for Jamal Crawford.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4284512

While Crawford is no great shakes, he's still an NBA caliber shooter. I can't believe we're getting him for the rotting albatross that is Speedy Claxton. A guy whose bobble head doll comes dressed in a suit.

Not sure what this means for Mike Bibby now although we still don't have a pure PG. Draft day just got a little more interesting though.

I'd do it in a millisecond but he'll be gone WAY before the Hawks pick.

Mike Bibby doesn't garner a lottery pick.
