Has anybody heard this? I'm on the second third of this triple album, and am so far really impressed. I took a liking to "Preteen Weaponry" last year, after pretty much writing off the band when I saw them open for The Constantines years ago, sounding entirely different at the time. I guess that's their schtick, and why I'm mostly coming around to Oneida.

This and Six Organs' "RTZ" may be two triple albums that find their way into my year's top.

Haven't got around to listening to this yet, but it high on my list of things to do. I think Oneida is way too often overlooked. As you hinted at, I kind of like that they seem to reinvent themselves a bit with every album.

Definitely can not argue with that Six Organs either. Then again I'm of the belief that one can never have too much Chasney.

i put this up somewhere else:

This Album Has Been "Rated O"

What can I tell you? Part Two of the Thank Your Parents trilogy is a triple album. I’ve found this information to be confusing to most people and I think the reason for this is a general fatigue for all things Oneida (coming out of my mouth). Now perhaps you’ll think I’m pushing the envelope by daring to suggest that I’m boring you – and I’ll be the first to agree. I’m cutting edge. I know that I’m putting you to sleep and yet I still prattle on about nothing at all!

It’s like the famous review of the Melvins that I’m making up right now, “It was like falling asleep on the barrel of an anti-aircraft gun.â€

I'm enjoying this. The record I've been waiting on from them since Secret Wars.

Yeah, it's really good. The closing track, especially.

Picked up the 3LP in Portland last week. Note that this is priced to go everywhere I've seen it. Less than $25 for the set.

Really? I'll have to take that into consideration. When I first saw the vinyl somewhere, it was over $30.

Really. I saw it in New York months ago newly released for like $24, and kicked myself for not grabbing it, but found it priced similarly at Jackpot in PDX. I haven't listened at home yet, but I will shortly.

Same with the 6Organs RTZ 3LP.

Paid right at $30 for it here, it sounds great though, and is a nice little set. Worth it in my opinion.

Finally listened to this in it's entirety today. I liked the first and second discs but the 3rd one got a little too jam-band for me. Maybe I'll just delete that one.
