Donnie Darko is probably in my top 10 movies all time. Is this worth anything, those who have seen both?

I never really got the whole Donnie Darko/Boondock Saints phenomenon. They were decent films, but nothing fascinating for me. I also watch a ton of shit films, so take that with a grain of salt.

Boondock Saints was TERRIBLE.

Donnie Darko was good for a teen film.

So, no one's actually seen this. Guess that's not a good sign.

My brother is currently watching this movie. I didn't catch the beginning, and am not really paying much attention to it, but from what I see it is an absolute piece of shit. It reminds me of any other crappy Direct to video sequel and/or an awful CW teen sci-fi type show.

A friend a work saw it and said it was interesting how they tried to tie everything together but, that it was pretty overwhelmingly bad.

I enjoyed DD, but its not one of my favorite movies.

What do Donnie Darko and Boondock Saints have to do with each other?

I don't like Donnie Darko and haven't seen Boondock Saints. I do kinda want to watch it out of curiosity and then watch the documentary about the director, like what neuroboy did (in the movies thread).

They don't have alot to do with each other besides the phenomenon that surrounds both films. They either didn't do anything at or make it to the Box Office, and then became hugely popular Cult films with the under 25 crowd.

The Boondock Saints is indeed a piece of shite. I always thought DD was a bit overrated, but it's not even in the same ballpark as Boondock Saints. Overnight, the documentary, is worth your time though.

Never seen Donnie Darko, but Boondock Saints was pretty awesome. I mean, how cool is it to crush a bad guy's head with a toilet bowl.

Yeah, this seems like a good project for this weekend. Watch a bad movie (which, who knows, I may actually enjoy), and then watch a documentary about what a douchebag the guy is who made it.
