I agree that we shouldn't just throw a vote for an underdog out of spite, but this isn't a contest about "better" album, it is our "favorite" album. I like the Stones and the Beatles, but I don't personally listen to them on a regular basis. B&S isn't my favorite album, but I'd put it in "If you're feeling sinister" to listen to such tracks as "Me and the Major", "Judy and the dream of horses" and "Get me away from here, I'm dying" before I'd throw on "Exile on Main Street" to listen to "Rocks Off", "Tumbling Dice" or "Shine a Light".

Well, there you go.

For the record, I'm against this voting for the underdog out of spite thing, too.

Stones

I don't really have a problem with the voting either, there's no outrage here, only a little bafflement at everyone tossing votes to the "underdog" which I don't get. Do you actually think Belle & Sebastian have the better album here?

I was under the impression this was a poll of "favorite" rather than "best" albums, which makes it not too difficult to see why someone would pick B&S over Exile. Hell, that's why I picked Big Star over Revolver. I think Revolver is pretty badass, but I don't really listen to it much.

Fair enough, I thought it was "better" or "best". This is what we get for not having strict operational definitions.

Either way, every Stones album, including Dirty Work should be trumping If You're Feeling Sinister, and much to the chagrin and derision of Faily G and Failcliffe, I LIKE If You're Feeling Sinister quite a lot.

Yeah, 12 votes and counting.

Yikes.

I guess I don't get being outraged by 12 people voting for this album.

There's no outrage. There's shit-talking and poking fun which is a large part of what has made this entertaining for me.

Although when Yankee Hotel Foxtrot beat Zuma, maybe that was real outrage.
