Ok, so when I use my wireless iPod Touch (or iPhone) to purchase music through iTunes, it downloads directly onto my iPod (or iPhone). How do I then transfer those songs to the iTunes on my computer? I manually manage my music libraries... but when I go under the music tab to sync a specific playlist (in this case the purchases playlist on my iPod) it looks like I have to allow general syncing of my music libraries... which iTunes warns me would remove all songs and content from my iPod, to be replaced with whatever is in my library on my computer. (Which, again, is not a lot). All I want is to get my purchases from my iPod to my computer. Something I can do with no problems with the various applications I've purchased. What am I missing?

I think you have to sync so the stuff you purchased on your iPhone will show up on your computer's iTunes.

Do you mean the "sync" button under the summary tab next to the capacity bar... or the general music syncing? Because I already tried the sync button under the summary tab. Didn't do anything.

Well, apparently my iPod decided that my iTunes wasn't the iTunes it was attached to. Which meant resetting the whole fucking thing anyway. Everything off iPod Touch--erased. Ugh. At least it did me the honor of transferring over my purchase first. So I won't have to go and illegally download that. What a bother.

iTunes is usually alright by me... but on those rare random occasions when it and I cross wires, it really is a pain to deal with.

Yeah, I learned the hard way a while back to always set it to manual sync, after getting it wiped.

Doesn't the iTunes store remember what you've purchased, and allow you to re-download it on a different device?

I have been able to re-download tracks that I have gotten years previously, using the same account, of course.
