So my daughter rescued an adolescent American Goldfinch from one of the cats. We brought it inside thinking we'd try to relocate it, but it decided it liked us and hung around on fingertips and shoulders all day until we drove it a hundred miles to the in-laws place to find a cat-free backyard.

I have doubts it will survive because it was in a cats mouth and probably has internal injuries, but it certainly was friendly.

Yeah we do all right. Daughter has a vascular disorder that's been complicated to deal with and I'm tired all the time from working 7 days a week. But mostly peace.
