I don't think they "insist" it. I mean they don't get up in your face or offended when you say it differently, but yeah they are all pretty pretentious.

it sounds a bit like deerhoof. maybe somewhat like early yeah yeah yeahs. i like the music but the chick singer can be really annoying at times.

That's basically how I feel about them, she's even fairly annoying as a person.

But then of all the bands that get compared to Deerhoof, the only one I've ever really agreed with is probably Ponytail.

This is pretty mediocre, and the singer is annoying in a way that's more similar to the chick from Fiery Furnaces than the chirpy monotone of the chick from Deerhoof.

i don't know what i'm talking about i guess since i've only heard one deerhoof album.
